I was thrilled to moderate Dark Horse Comics’ “Super Heroes and Not So Super Villains” panel at San Diego Comic Con this year. I am genuinely a fan of everyone who was on this panel: writers Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum and artist Scott Hepburn of the terrific supervillain romp Minor Threats, James Tynion IV and Tate Brombal of the teen mad scientist book The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos, and Black Hammer writer/artist Jeff Lemire (who also created Sweet Tooth).
I’ve released the audio as a bonus episode of The Writers Panel, but you can also watch the video of the panel below. All the better to see some of the amazing artwork that was presented.

Need more in your ears? Below the paywall is (finally!) the recording from our live Zoom Q&A with Cole Haddon (creator, Dracula). This turned into a really interesting conversation, especially in the second half of it when we started talking more about some very specific craft things, like how to write fight scenes!
Out next live Zoom Q&A is Sunday, October 15, 4pm PT, with my pal Jenny Klein (Supernatural; Daisy Jones and the Six; The Witcher). If you want to join and ask your Q’s, or if you want to listen to it later, then become a paid subscriber right now!
