I Know What You Did Last Summer
Writer/director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson & co-writer Sam Lansky kill it in today's Writers Panel episode
Thrilling Adventure Hour 20th Anniversary Shows!
Just a note that tickets are going fast for both Sunday night Thrilling Adventure Hour shows in Brooklyn on October 26 and for the last remaining London show on November 1.
I am particularly looking forward to those Brooklyn appearances, as the early show will be a “greatest hits” type of show featuring our entire cast, including Paul F. Tompkins, Marc Evan Jackson, Busy Philipps, Paget Brewster, Joshua Malina, and more revisiting episodes we haven’t performed live in decades. And the late show is the incomparable “WorkJuice Improv” starring the whole cast, who are incredible improvisers. (And Acker and I don’t have to write a thing!).

You Get What You Deserve
It’s been such a treat getting to know Jennifer Kaytin Robinson since she first appeared on the podcast in 2017 to promote the series she created, Sweet/Vicious. Since then, Jenn has returned to talk about her journey as a writer diretor, first of Someone Great in 2019 (you can listen to that episode here) and then with co-writer Celeste Ballard for Do Revenge in 2022 (that one is here).
So I eagerly reached out to Jenn to discuss her biggest movie yet, the “requel” to 1997’s Kevin Williamson-penned slasher mystery I Know What You Did Last Summer. Jenn and co-writer Sam Lansky discuss modernizing a morality tale, playing plot Jenga, "trauma but make it popcorn," and justifying THAT TWIST.
Jenn and Sam’s I Know… update is in theaters now. Our conversation contains massive spoilers in the last 10-15 minutes (clearly stated when it happens), so go see the movie!

I recorded a new intro for the second half of the year, and it is… grim? But I wanted you all to know the general feeling “out there” these days, as I’ve experienced it. Moreso, though, I want to know how you’re feeling. Whether you’re firmly entrenched in the industry (as much as anyone can be right now) or looking to break in, please tell me how you’re feeling lately. If nothing else, it’s nice to know we’re not alone out there.
I’m so outside the business that inside information about it is triggering lol
