Thrill!
But first! Thanks to everyone who came out to see Sunday’s Retrospecs show. It was another wildly fun afternoon with the loveliest, most talented cast. You haven’t seen Succession until you’ve seen Tatiana Maslany as Shiv and Saagar Shaikh as Kendall. Luckily, you can watch on demand until Sunday night.
On Sunday, October 13, 6pm and 8pm, we’re doing our last Thrilling Adventure Hour shows of the year!
If you’re unfamiliar with the show that my partner and I have been writing and producing for 19 years, we describe it as “a staged show in the style of old-time radio.” More specifically, each show consists of three genre-comedy segments. The show on Oct 13 is “an evening Beyond Belief,” which heavily features our breakout segment, which stars Paul F. Tompkins and Paget Brewster as married mediums who love each other and booze and who are set upon every episode by supernatural problems. It’s kind of “The Thin Man with ghosts.”
In addition to PFT and Paget, we have a terrific cast of regulars, including Marc Evan Jackson (Brooklyn 99) and more, as well as some amazing guest stars lined up.
The 6pm and 8pm shows feature different scripts with different guest casts too! And you can attend, stream live, or watch on demand for one week. You have no excuse not to watch this show!
Lessons in Chemistry
As I mention at the end of today’s Writers Panel episode, I started watching Colin from Accounts because so many guests of the podcast recommended it. Now I am recommending it to you! It’s utterly charming, and creators/stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer have a delightful, easy chemistry.
I had such fun chatting with them about falling into making this show, writing for themselves, creating flawed and funny characters, who's allowed access to the shared document, and more.

What are you all watching?
Like a lot of people, I recently binged all of Kevin Can F&@k Himself while dealing with a cold. I've also been rewatching the anime series, Dorohedoro. I rarely successfully stick with an anime series and this one is hitting just right. It gives me The Tick animated series vibes sometimes but also very dark.
