Get Tickets Now to Retrospecs
Seriously, stop not getting tickets. There is something dumb going on with live events in the past year whereby people don’t buy tickets until the last minute. I get it! I want to have the option to stay home too! But the good news is that this Retrospecs show is on a Sunday afternoon, so you can come to the show, then get home in time to watch The Sopranos or Game of Thrones or whatever a contemporary reference to Sunday-night prestige viewing is.
Anyway. Retrospecs returns to the Elysian Theater in LA on Sunday, Sept 29, 2-4pm. You can get tickets to attend or stream live here. Hope to see you there.
We’ve got an impressive cast already lined up, including Paul Scheer (Star Trek: Lower Decks), Hannah Simone (New Girl), Sherry Cola (Joy Ride), Ayden Mayeri (Mr. Throwback), Parvesh Cheena (Craig of the Creek), Andrew Lopez (The Bear), and more to be announced.
We’re doing a Seinfeld by David Iserson (New Girl; The Spy Who Dumped Me) which he wrote when he was seventeen and which, for some reason, takes place during the Revolutionary War. It is genuinely funny.
We’re also reading a Succession spec by the notorious parody account creator Fake Carol Lombardini which takes place during last year’s WGA/SAG strikes and which features real Carol Lombardini, the studio CEOs, Fran Drescher, and dead-on character dialogue. It’s a really funny script.
You can get tickets to attend or stream live here.
Blown Away
In today’s Writers Panel, producer Ashley Jay Sandberg (Twisters; The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart) discusses what a producer does, the art of giving and receiving notes, putting together the team, the future of movies, and lots more.
