First Thing First
Paid subscribers! Don’t forget about Saturday’s live Zoom Q&A with feature writer Tom Vaughan (Winchester; Haunting of the Queen Mary). I am really excited about this opportunity to pick Tom’s brain which is full of practical advice about the craft of writing.
Second Thing Second
I have so many live shows coming up. I hope you’ll join us for some of them!
This coming Sunday, March 16, 2-4pm at the Elysian Theater in LA, we’re doing a special live Dead Pilots Society featuring the pilot and second episode of a dead series by Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome (creators of Another Period). It is ridiculous that these scripts were not picked up to series.
Attend the show or watch on demand.
The cast for this one is bananas including Natasha and Riki, Brian Huskey (Bob's Burgers), Luke Tennie (Shrinking), Olivia Liang (Kung Fu), Kyla Kenedy (Mr Mayor), India deBeaufort (Night Court), John Clarence Stewart (Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist), Punam Patel (Ghosts), and more.
The only LA show on our The Thrilling Adventure Hour 20th anniversary tour is March 29 at the Lodge Room in Highland Park..
And Chicago is right on the heels of that show on April 12 at Lincoln Hall. That’s also the weekend of C2E2, Chicago’s comic convention, where the cast will be doing one of their notorious WorkJuice Improv shows (a lot of fun and I don’t have to write anything) and we’ll all be doing a panel at the con too. Info for those will be at ThrillingAdventure.live once I have it.
What’s more, our fall shows in Brooklyn and London are nearly sold out! Which is very exciting to me, as I have a lot of anxiety about selling out these shows! We have a way-too-big cast of ridiculously talented actors that includes Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, Marc Evan Jackson, Busy Philipps, Joshua Malina, Autumn Reeser (below, as her signature character, “Amelia Earhart, Fearless Flyer”), and more, as well as special, surprise guests. Which means touring is expensive. This whole thing might kill me? But it’s also the most fun, for both me and (hopefully) for you.
Please come and see us.
TIX FOR LA, CHICAGO, NY, AND LONDON ARE ON SALE HERE.
For Your Convenience
Today’s Writers Panel episode is a conversation with Deli Boys creator Abdullah Saeed about diligence versus talent, his favorite part of the television-making process, the most important part of your sample script, embracing chaos, and more.

Hey Ben, I have to say how excellent it is for folks living far away and for disabled folks that the Elysian offers VOD. So appreciated!
Hey Ben! Are you guys planning to have autograph sessions after the Thrilling Adventure Hour shows? Trying to get your and the other Ben’s autograph on my copy of Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View.
